#thedailymarker30day2 - week three

This week wasn't exactly eventful. I had to work the late/closing shift and the weekend.

Day 15: Another day at the grind stone. I did a simple little piggy and a white rabbit in blue.

Day 16: Today I worked on some of my jewellery projects, I finished a pair of earring for a friend of my boss' then packaged it with the Sizzix pillow box die cut. Som cotton balls to protect the goods... perfection! One of the best dies I have bought. I  made sure I got some colouring in too!! but I kept it simple and played with some Dylusions sprays for backgrounds

Day 17:  Was totally stumped for an idea for father's day card. I was browsing Pintrest before work and found this site: girllikethesea.org so i printed an outline version on card stock, used my prisma pencil and gamsol. then I went in and glossy accented the eyes.

Day 18: woohoo for a day off work! I finished the remaining Angel earrings/pendants I was working on, some house work and a lot of Orange is the new Black. So again simple colouring with a blue/grey copic whale, didn't quite blend the way i hopped - i think i need better paper. I did have a happy accident along the way and discovered the my Copic colourless blender works like gamsol!

Day 19: OK! a bit of crazy today.Finished cleaning and up met my boss for lunch and to give her the earrings I made. She brought me home, saw my new place, then worked a full shift while blasting my tunes. so all in all it was a decent day.  My little whale gave me some inspiration, so today I made water inspired backgrounds. - Distress, Dylusions and peerless all water coloured.

Day 20:  wow, Day 20 already, this month is going so fast. Before work I stamped out a bunch of whales, and water coloured them on my lunch break. I love working from home! I did shades of brown/grey and blue/grey as well as 2 shades of grey. I was hit with an idea of... what makes an adorable what even more adorable... googley eyes!

Day 21: Happy Fathers Day!   today was a bit of a bomb. wasn't a good work day - huzzah! for technical errors all day.  Then I headed out with my Darth Vader card to mom and dad's place for dinner. Got dad one of those HUGE Lindt bars for Father's Day then came home and went a bit out of my comfort zone with prisma colours and I think it turned out decent.

Canada Day Angels - ready for sale!

Along with paper crafting, I enjoy making jewellery.

Last week I had a request for some red angels, so I have made a small army of angels again :)

They are $15CAD each pair + cost of shipping (usually about $3-$5)  Locals - we can try to meet to save postage

I can also make these designs into a pin, pendant; or charms for a wine glass, key chain, or bracelet.

I've made a bunch of red and white angels, which are perfect for Canada Day!
There are some baby blue, smoky grey available, and a very limited amount of green/purple and 1 pink set left.

More jewellery and prices are on my Facebook Page

#thedailymarker30day2 - week two

I have a little less going on this week, so I hope to have a bit more colouring happening!

Day 8: I intended to spend most of the day with my crafts, but the heat won over me. I ended up testing out my White Pigment Ink from Simon Says Stamp and my prisma pencils on some Craft cardstock. There just some doodle flowers and then the White Rabbit. After wards i though he needed a scene. I may make this into a card for my friend - we both love Alice in Wonderland. I should paint Alice for her... The Rabbit is another stamp from Deep Red stamps

Day 9: WOW what a day at work... All the more reason to craft, to de-stress. It works quite well! Simple cards tonight. I had stamped a bunch of images last week for night like this. I grabbed my water colours and colours my fav rose again. Then grabbed my seedless Preserve distress ink, along with mowed lawn and used those to water colour another rose. Just lovely they will make some great cards. Yes slightly obsessed with this rose stamp...

Day 10: Today I started to finish my stamp re-organization and up-cycled this old baby wipe container. Turns out it holds my rubber stamps perfectly -- for now :)   One day I will get around to covering the container or getting something a little bigger.  I used one of the Sparkle Creations stamps and my prisma pencils. Unfortunately she ran into an accident later in the week :(

Day 11: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! June 11 was a busy day, Also mom and dad's anniversary, wee ended up doing a BBQ at moms place with cake my brother and grandma made, and some wine. So I kept the colouring for the day simple. I've fallen in love with my Sparkle Creations stamps again now that I have better tools and organization.

Day 12: I had a burst of creativity today after work! I ended up taking all the images - that were just scattered all around, as inspiration right? - and turned most of them into cards. Along with another Sparkle Creations stamp - there will be a lot of the same stamps used, I'm finding some of the rubber stamps are easier to colour with than the clear ones I have.

Day 13 & 14: I was a bit defeated by the heat on the weekend, but still made sure I coloured! Peerless water colour on the Angel, and Prisma pencils on some Stamps of Life images

#thedailymarker30day2 - week one

I've been following along on and participating via Instagram with  #thedailymarker30day2   - full details on Kathy's blog

June brings a lot of activities to our lives, so this has been an awesome way to de-stress and relax. Not to mention get some cards made. Sorry there's some spoilers in here... sorry mom!

I wanted to share my work space pre-colouring and some cards I made last week.  A lot of my supplies I bought locally at Be Creative or CherryLane but I will link to another source for you :)
I love supporting local shops, and probably mentioned this before - I love that In The Making (know for Glitter Ritz micro-fine glitter and Dee's distinctively Dies) are made in my town

Most of the tools ready do go!
Pink box with most of my Stamps of Life, some Hero Arts and Deep Red StampsCopics, Prismacolor, Gamsol, Peerless Watercolour

Day 1: Playing with Stamps of Life set i got as a gift for being part of the Die Hard club for 1 year and some blending with Gamsol and my Prisma pencils

Day 2: Roses from Deep Red stamps, done with Peerless watercolors - later in the week I made this into a Birthday card for my mom using Sizzix oval dies, We R Memory Keepers small dot embossing folder, and Happy Birthday Dies from Dee's Distinctively

Day 3: More Deep Red stamps, this time the Brown Rabbit of Hearts with Prisma pencils and playing with Peerless water colour and Stampendous train post card stamp. More colour block style rather than detailed - gotta try new things!

Day 4: This was playing the the Rose stamp again and copics this time, and made 2 cards for my brothers graduation

Day 5: Was quite the day... Finally a day off work, and spent the day with family at my baby brother high school graduation. I came home and start a card for dads birthday with a stamps of life set and copics... and here's the finished card from a day or two later.

Day 6: Today was a relax and try something new... freehand water colour. Something I haven't done since I was like 13. I think i was better hen than now, haha. I tried a loose interpretation of this little dude I found on my door. the point is to relax and have fun. which I did.

Day 7: Happy Birthday Dad!! After work i went to parents place again and we had a birthday dinner and some home made cake. yum!!  This was background day. I used some pictures of sunset have taken the past few weeks and used them as inspiration for backgrounds. Now all I need to do is stamp/colour on top to complete them - yes I keep my paint brushes in an old McCafe cup lol

Cards, Cards, Cards and more Cards!

The past month has brought a lot of news, some good and some not so great. Two dear friends of mine had a family member pass away recently. A few days after I got the card in the mail I found out my grandma's dad passed away.

For some good news, I just got back from visiting a friend and my grandparents at the end of May. I have made a Thank You card for each of them that I will show you. I had also made 2 Mothers Day cards - one from me, and one from my brothers (those boys never remember cards...)
Lastly, I know I've been slow on the blog posts, I've been moving things around so dad and I could paint my bedroom and my office/craft room. Very excited for to finally getting rid of the pink-ish coloured walls! Dad changed his mind a little bit and decided that while I was off visiting and vacationing he would finish painting!!

Dads are just the best!

On that note, I need to finish up some other cards - mom and dad have birthdays next week, father's day coming up, and my baby brother (who is over 6 feet tall, and towers over me...) graduates tomorrow so I have a cards made for him too. This has been a much easier task this year since I've been following along in the 2nd round of Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. More on that in the next post!
